Who We Are
The Good Roll Foundation was established in 2018 as the allocator of the 50% of profits donated by The Good Roll from sales of its 100% recycled toilet paper. Together with our partners, we have built 32 toilets in Ghana and Uganda and affected the lives of close to 3,000 people.
Now, in 2020, we are ready for an expansion! In addition to continued partnerships, we are setting out to develop and build the cheapest, most efficient, circular toilet in the world. How will we do this? Through our own research and external collaboration, we will be focusing on as many of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) as possible.
United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs)
(aka Global Goals)
In 2015, the United Nations Member States developed a list of 17 goals which provide a blueprint for eradicating poverty and deprivation by the year 2030.
Here at The Good Roll Foundation, we have a focus on Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation. However, we are currently redesigning our toilets to both directly and indirectly impact 15 of the 17 Global Goals, , with new designs planned to focus on a 16th goal in the not-too-distant future.
Our facilities are designed to impact as many aspects of life as possible through providing clean and modern amenities, easy access to drinking water, cheap and high-quality fertilizer, water for cooking, cleaning, and bathing, and assist int the unburdening of the healthcare system. However, we also have an impact on the possibly less obvious aspects, such as reducing unemployment, decreasing gender inequality, lowering rates of sexual violence, and creating improved educational opportunities.
